Half Portrait

The half portrait is a project that took me a long time to finish. It is a picture of me in which I cut in the middle and pasted it into a drawing paper. I drew the other half of the face with shading by copying the other half of the picture which is not pasted. The materials I used to make this project were: a picture of a face, a drawing paper, glue, scissors The result for this project was a complete face portrait which had one half of the face drawn and the other half a pasted picture.
The difficulties that I had in this project were that I got confused with the size in the face, so I had to repeat some parts. The easiest part of this project was to do the mouth because it is more outlined than shadows. This half portrait helped me understand how to put shadows into a face and male it look three dimensional while it is a two dimensional object.

Face Sculpture

The face sculpture is a face made of clay in which it took many steps to complete. First we divided the mass into two, and then we did the eyes, nose, mouth, ears and finally the hair. After it dried out, we painted it with watercolor paints. Each step took us one period of art class. The objective for this project was to have a tree dimensional object in which we can compare to the half portrait which was a two dimensional object to see face proportion.

The difficulties that I had were to catch up with my class because I was absent some days in which we worked on this project. The easiest part was to paint the face since we already had some experience with watercolors. The final product for this project was a painted sculpture of a face which has the right face proportion (As shown on picture).

Sketch

This is a sketch that I did inspire on pictures that I took. Since my dad and my brother do motocross, I go and take pictures in the motocross track. I have many sketches of motocross because I have so many good pictures of that. This sketch is in the nationals of Ecuador, the rider is called Miguel Cordovez and he won the race. He is now racing for Italy all around Europe.

The difficulties that I had was to draw the roundness of the helmet and to do the top part of it. The easiest part was to draw the profile of the face because I did not add any details to it. I did not paint the drawing because I am not that good at painting things, so I did not want to ruin my sketch.
